Argentine surgeons created a 3D mask for facial reconstruction in cases of deep burns

La Prensa Newspaper - (Nicaragua) To perform the procedure, which can be applied later in various parts of the body, a Swiss simulation software program (Crisalix 3D) was used for cosmetic surgery along with a portable scanner, which allowed to obtain images of the patient in three dimensions and then transfer them to a printer.
The new method received the first prize for best work at the XVIII Argentine Burns Congress 2019 and was accepted to publish in the Journal of BurnCare & Research (Oxford University Press), official organ of the American Burns Association, one of the most prestigious magazines in the world dedicated exclusively to the treatment and investigation of burn patients.
